Bachmann Pokes Minnesota in the Eye on National Television
Questions integrity of state’s election, judicial systems
In an interview on Fox News Channel’s “FOX & Friends” this week, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), talking about the state recount in the Coleman-Franken Senate race, besmirched the integrity of Minnesota’s election system by alleging that “a lot of irregularities occurred during the voting process.”
She later amplified that comment, asserting, “There were quite a few irregularities.”
In the interview, Rep. Bachmann twice claimed that “the law was not applied fairly,” and that “the law was not applied equally.”
Bachmann also raised questions about the integrity of Minnesota’s judiciary, saying, “If we get a fair judge, Coleman will win this election.”
