As of Friday, November 4, 2011, at least 4,483 members of the U.S. military had died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003, according to iCasualties.org.

Since the start of U.S. military operations in Iraq, 32,200 U.S. service members have been wounded as of Sept. 30, 2011, according to iCasualties.org.

Army 1st Lt. Dustin D. Vincent, 25, Mesquite, Texas, died Nov. 3, 2011 in Kirkuk province, Iraq, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

U.S. Military Deaths in Afghanistan

As of Friday, November 4, 2011, at least 1,831 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan as a result of the invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to iCasualties.org.

Since the start of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan, 14,327 U.S. service members have been wounded as of Sept. 30, 2011, according to iCasualties.org.

Army Lt. Col. David E. Cabrera, 41, Abilene, Texas, died Oct. 29, 2011 in Kabul province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. He was assigned to Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, Md.

Army Sgt. James M. Darrough, 38, Austin, Texas, died Oct. 29, 2011 in Kabul province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 101st Finance Company, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Army Sgt. Carlo F. Eugenio, 29, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., died Oct. 29, 2011 in Kabul province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 756th Transportation Company, 224th Sustainment Brigade, California Army National Guard, Van Nuys, Calif.

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher R. Newman, 26, Shelby, N.C., died Oct. 29, 2011 in Kabul province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. He was assigned to Medical Company A, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii.

Army Staff Sgt. Ari R. Cullers, 28, New London, Conn., died Oct. 30, 2011 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when an insurgent rocket-propelled grenade exploded near him. He was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.

Army National Guard Pfc. Sarina N. Butcher, 19, Checotah, Okla., died Nov. 1, 2011 in Paktia province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked her vehicle with an improvised explosive device. She was assigned to the 700th Brigade Support Battalion, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard, Tulsa, Okla.

Army National Guard Spc. Christopher D. Gailey, 26, Ochelata, Okla., died Nov. 1, 2011 in Paktia province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 700th Brigade Support Battalion, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard, Tulsa, Okla.
