In an August 4, 2012 fundraising letter that takes the cake for bad taste, Rep. Michele Bachmann tells her supporters to “Wish Obama a Happy Birthday” by making their “most generous contribution” to help her raise $51,000 on Barack Obama’s 51st birthday to “ensure that President Obama doesn’t have another birthday to run our country into the ground.”

Please help me stand up to Michele Bachmann by making a small donation of $8 or $14 (I’m not asking for $2012) to help me in my August 14, 2012 primary election battle against Bachmann.

Following is the full text of Bachmann’s letter, with fundraising links removed.

Dear [recipient’s name],

Happy Birthday Obama!

Today, Barack Obama celebrates his 51st birthday. With any luck, this will be his last one as President of the United States of America.

Will you help us raise $51,000 in 24 hours for Barack’s 51st birthday?

If you’d like to wish him a happy birthday in person it will cost you $40,000. Yes, you read that correctly, next week his friends in Chicago are hosting a $40,000 per person fundraiser at his home to celebrate his birthday and support his re-election for President.

Not only can Americans not afford $40,000 to attend a dinner with Obama; they definitely can’t afford four more years of Barack Obama leading our country. As he celebrates his birthday in Chicago, millions of Americans remain unemployed and are struggling to pay the bills every month thanks to his disastrous policies. He couldn’t be more out of touch.

At the same time today, you better believe that Obama’s liberal cronies are sending him birthday cards full of congratulations for his accomplishments in the past year like socializing medicine, granting amnesty for illegals, increasing unemployment, and demonizing business owners.

That’s why I’ve drafted a virtual birthday card to come from all of us — the American people shouldn’t need money or influence to tell our President what’s on our mind.

You can join me in signing President Obama’s birthday card by following this link. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to make a contribution to help ensure his agenda doesn’t survive until his next birthday. I hope you’ll give generously and help show him that we’re stronger than ever.

Only 18 hours remain during Barack’s birthday – and our campaign has a hefty task ahead of us. We need to raise $51,000 in the next 24 hours for Barack’s 51st. Won’t you please follow this link to sign the card for Barack and afterwards make your most generous contribution to guarantee we hit our goals?

After signing the card, I hope you’ll help me raise $51,000, for President Obama’s 51st birthday, to help make sure it’s the last birthday he spends in the White House.

Sincerely,

Michele Bachmann

P.S. By raising $51,000 in the next 24 hours we can help ensure that President Obama doesn’t have another birthday to run our country into the ground. Visit this link to sign President Obama’s birthday card and make a contribution after towards a more conservative America. Thank you! — Michele
